Design tools are displayed in productions samples wherever relevant. Here’s the basic breakdown.
The bulk of the production process takes place in Adobe Creative Cloud products.
- Photoshop: Photo composites / web based layouts / support graphics
- Illustrator: Vector illustrations / infographics / iconography / logos / support imagery / print material (event booth/banners etc)
- InDesign: Magazine/Guide layouts (digital PDF / print) / Adverts (print/digital)
- Animate: short motion graphics / animation
Illustration based creative may start and end with traditional tools, or used to complement another job within illustrator.
- Procreate: hand drawn digital illustrations (T-Shirt designs, etc)
- Hand Made: Old school style – thumbnail sketches, storyboarding, ideation for logos/projects, art (anything created by hand using traditional mediums)
Stock images are often utilized for speed of use (B2B, B2C in house) and reworked in photoshop as multilayer composites or as standalone web based images.
- Shutterstock: General stock photography, illustrations, iconography etc
- Midjourney AI: Stock image generation (Read more about my thoughts on AI and why I use it in my day to day in-house B2B production design)
